The William Siegal Gallery offers a small but rare collection of Pre-Columbian gold jewelry, and fine beadwork examples. Of all Pre-Columbian civilizations, none reached a higher level of expression in gold and beadwork than the tribes that lived in what is now the country of Colombia (the term "Pre-Columbian" refers to the time periods before Columbus discovered the Americas). Pre-Columbian Jewelry was crafted with a variety of materials including corals, semi-precious & precious stones, bone, shell, amber, and clay.
